House in Inokashira
“Form of Genius Loci”
Situada en un solar muy estrecho, envuelta por una pequeña calle y una colina de brotes de bambú, esta vivienda unifamiliar actúa como muro de contención y vivienda.
Apunta a ser un homenaje a los árboles que una vez estuvieron allí, lamas de cedro y estampado en hormigón con veteado insinúan las texturas y materiales que habitaban el bosque antes de la vivienda. Al caer la noche, las luces del interior iluminan el exterior con celosías verticales creando ambigëdades en todo el perímetro.

Situated on a very narrow plot, bound by a small street and bamboo tree hill, performing as both a retaining wall and dwelling, this single family house sits into the hill. Aiming as homage to the trees that once stood there, cedar louvers and concrete embossed with wood grain hint the textures and materials that sit in the forest behind the home. When it gets dark, lights from interior illuminate its outside vertical latticework creating ambiguities around the context.
